【摘 要】《即將成人》是理查德·賴特的一部著名短篇小說,也是一部關于美國黑人青少年的成長小說。運用成長小說理論,通過分析主人公戴維·桑德斯的成長經歷和成長過程,探討成長主題在《即將成人》中的主要體現,試圖從新的視角解讀作家的創作意圖和文學主張。%The Man Who was Almost a Man is one of Richard

Wright's well-known short stories, also a story of initiation about American

black adolescents, who was acknowledged as father of American black

writers in post world War II. Straightforward as it is, this story contains

abundant connotations of theme. However, less attention has been paid to

the theme of initiation in this story. This paper, in application to the theory

of initiation, through analysis of the protagonist Dave Saunders'

experiences and process of growth, it attempts to explore the

embodiments of initiation theme in this short story aiming at interpreting

Richard Wright's writing intentions and literary opinions.
