1. My friend, Hugh, has always been fat, but things got so bad

recently that he decided to go on a diet.

still as fat as ever.

5. He led me into his room and hurriedly hid a large parcel

under his desk.

6. It was obvious that he was very embarrasd.

7. When I asked him what he was doing, he smiled guiltily and

then put the parcel on the desk.

8. He explained that his diet was so strict that he had to reward

himlf occasionally.

語法復習課

一般過去時的用法:表示過去發生的而現在已經結束的事

件、動作或情況。常和明確的過去時間狀語連用，如：

yesterday, last week, three days ago等。
