奇幻單機游戲本人推薦《上古卷軸4》.《無冬之夜2》，《神鬼寓言之失落之章》，這幾款單機游戲自由度比較高，而且魔法效果很好很強大，
裝備也很漂亮，武器也會發光。但是上古卷軸4要求配設很高。
射擊的大型單機本人推薦《榮譽勛章之血戰太平洋》.《使命召喚4》.《半條命2》非CS，這三款游戲可以讓您仿佛身在戰爭中，比較真實，要求配設也不高。
夸張的射擊游戲有《英雄薩姆2》，這款游戲的武器比較夸張，槍只是科幻的。
星際爭霸：世界公認的最經典的戰略游戲。對電腦和系統的資源也消耗最低。98－04年所有的年輕人都在玩。
魔獸爭霸：三維的立體效果，酷炫的魔，在新一代的年輕人中取代了星際爭霸的地位，曾經網上對于星際和魔獸孰優孰劣展開過激烈的討論，但其實他們都是很優秀的單機戰略游戲。現在的年輕人沒有不知道魔獸的，沒有不玩一下魔獸。包括磨獸的對戰和RPG

紅色警戒：早年的戰略游戲，現在也有少數人在玩，娛樂一下還可以，東西看上去逼真，坦克是個坦克樣，小狗就是小狗，大兵就是大兵，不像星際一樣，一上來都不知道那些是什么東西。不過游戲的平衡性不如星際和魔獸。
三國群英傳：也是一個存在歷史較長的單機游戲。從一代到后來的5代一般被大家玩過來，現在也不知道是出到7代還是8代了。還有個叫三國志的，感覺不如這個好，不要弄混了。
帝國時代：早年的戰略游戲，曾經和星際平分天下，現在很少見人玩了。
英雄無敵：聽說是不錯的回合制戰略游戲，也符合你說的那些自己買兵,布兵 要自己 建房子什么的條件，這個我沒玩過。
除了上面這些，還有一些好玩的單機游戲，像影響了一代人的角色類游戲：仙劍奇俠傳1－4，軒轅劍。漂亮打斗動作的波斯王子1-3，鬼武者，還有實況足球，拳皇一類，也很好玩，只是不是你想要的那種 “可以自己買兵,布兵 要自己 建房子什么的！！”這一類的
