behind是什么意思(beside是什么意思)

單詞behind可以用作介詞和副詞，我們都知道它可以做“在……后面”講，除此之外，它還有其他的意思。

1.behind用作介詞，一般由下面四個意思，它后面可以跟名詞或代詞。

1）behind表示“在/向……后面”。比如：

They were parked behind the truck...

他們停在了卡車后面。Who's the girl standing behind Jan? 站在簡身后的女孩是誰？Stay clo behind me. 緊跟在我后面。a small street behind the station 車站后面的小街。She glanced behind her. 她扭頭朝背后掃了一眼。The sun disappeared behind the clouds. 太陽消失在云層里。

2）behind指“落后于，劣于，低于”。比如：

3）behind指“支持，贊成，做……后盾”。比如：She knew that, whatever she decided, her family was right behind her. 她知道，無論她做出什么決定，她的家人肯定會支持她的。We are behind you all the way!我們自始至終支持你!

4）behind指“對…來說成為過去；拋到…的腦后”。比如：

She put the nightmare behind her.她已將噩夢拋諸腦后。He will attempt to put behind him the miry of failing to win a medal in his individual event.他會盡力忘掉自己沒能在個人項目上奪牌的痛苦。

2.behind用作副詞，有三個常見的意思。

1）behind指“在后面，向后”。比如：

She rode off down the road with the dog running behind.她騎車沿路而去，狗跟在后面奔跑著。The others are a long way behind.其余的人遠遠地落在后面。This is a hou with a garden behind一座后面帶有花園的房子。

2）behind指“留在后面，留在原地”，比如：

I was told to stay behind after school.我被告知放學后留下。They went for a walk but I stayed behind to look after the baby.他們去散步，我卻留下照看嬰兒。

3）behind表示“遲，慢，拖欠，積壓”，常與with或in連用。比如：
