　　白色污染

　　伴隨著人類生活文明的進步，白色污染日愈嚴重起來。塑料袋，塑料包裝等雖是我們日常生活中必不可少的東西，它價格便宜，質輕，耐用，防水的幾大特點被人們所看好。在中國的市場極大，我國也是世界上十大塑料制品生產和消費國之一。但處理這些東西比想象中難得多。一般塑料垃圾在自然界“停留”的時間可達200——500年。所以對于塑料類制品我們要抵制使用。

　　汞污染

　　汞是唯一在常溫下呈液體的金屬元素。俗稱“朱砂”。汞可溶于水，空氣中。它巨大的毒性令人談之色變。它主要來源于電池等物品。據統計1970——1979年全世界直接向水體排放的汞總量達1.6萬噸！排向大氣的汞量也達10萬噸。當水中或空氣中的汞濃度過高時，會導致樹木枯死，人類患上因汞攝入過高引發的病癥，如日本南部九州灣有一個叫水俁的小鎮，這里居住著4萬居民，以漁業為生。1939年開始，日本氮肥公司的合成醋酸廠開始生產氯乙烯，工廠的生產廢水一直排放入水誤灣。該公司在生產氯乙烯和醋酸乙烯時，使用了含汞的催化劑，使廢水中含有大量的汞。這種汞在水體中，被水中的魚食用，在魚體內轉化成有毒的甲基汞。人食用魚后，汞在人體內聚集從而產生一種怪病：患者開始時，只是口齒不清，步履蹣跚，繼而面部癡呆，全身麻木，耳聾眼瞎，最后變成神經失常，直至躬身狂叫而死。1972年據環境廳統計，水誤鎮共患水誤病180人，死亡50多人，就在新線縣阿赫野川亦發現100多水誤病患者，8人死亡。據報到，患者人數遠不止此，僅水誤鎮的受害居民，即達萬余人。
