There Is No “Y” In Happiness, There Is “I”

—A REVIEW OF”THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS”

There is a story about lor. As a matter of fact, I think it is

usually more rious problem that someone is called “lor” in

English. Becau,

when you are labeled a "lor" in the name,

you will be forgotten and despid by others. And when you are

named “total lor”, I am afraid you will break down in your life.

However, this story is not about success, just about happiness.

What is happiness? If you ask this question on what is the same

univer. As we all know, everyone has their own standard

about happiness.

As long as you reach this standard, you're

happy.

Just like this film “the pursuit of the happyness”.

This film tells the story of a poor father called Christ Gardner.

When He met his father, he was 28. So he was determined to

be a good father who can take care of his son very well.

He wanted to change the situation of the bought 50 bone scanners ,he wanted to sale the by 240 dollars to make a

he of the doctors think it as a uless and expensive machine .Christ had to find out other ways to make the help of a magic cube ,he succeeded getting a chance to practice in Dean Witter,he want to be a stockbroker,becau he meet a person who own a wonderful car,he ask him how to make it ,and he got the answer that he was a

there were 20 person attending this at last ,only one person would be hired,and to made matters the 6 months of the practice, there were no salary. During this time,

his wife left him, Becau of the enormous pressure of life.

Chris became a single father. Misfortunes never come singly, he

and his son were driven out of the apartment, they were

homeless. Although under great

pressure , Chris cho to stick it out, and fight for what he known he can do ,for him ,and for his son. He is strong in spirit ,whatever barriers he meet ,he just continued his work and never stopped running .but it looks like that god likes to play tricks with him , he had gone through more hardships than others before the final success .

After the most difficult time ,the spring for him is coming. He was hired. And he became a successful

investment expert at last.

As far as I concerned, the storyline focus on some details

about the whole story. The first detail, as the beginning of this

film,after Chris has nt Christopher to the kindergarten , he saw a wrong word “happyess” on the wall .How could this be? Maybe nobody cared about it. But Chris paid attention to the

wrong word

and said a famous ntence: There is no “Y(why)”

in happiness ,the only thing we can do is striving for our own

happiness voluntarily . It was not only a simple sigh with feeling,

but also a theme of this film. As a matter of fact, this film just

wanted pass on a truth to us, the truth about happiness.

The cond detail, Chris said he met with his father at

Chris phoned his wife in the police station and begged her to bring his son back, the tears fulled of the love of a father, perhaps he knew poverty-stricken situation clearly, tax, rent and tickets were waiting for paid, his wife left him becau of the

poor life and his “unpractical” dream, but in his mind, if his son

was still with him,he had a family. And his son was the only support of his fighting. He wanted to be an eligible father. But it can

not be ignored When the mother left his son, she told to her

son “tell him I love him”,which touched me. For women who worked almost 16 hours per day to rai the family and who husband always in unpractical dream, in her mind it

emed reasonable for her to leave. But she was just a mother,

although she knew that she had no time to take care of her son

and Chris could stay with the boy and looked after him well, she still could not help to sob when she left. In her tears, I believe all audience would forgive her. When I watched this, I felt sad and despairing. I

believed everyone who saw this plot story wanted to ask

“where is happiness”. The next detail,

After one day’s work, Mr. Chris and his son came back home, only to find their things were packed and stacked out of the door.

They had no place to live. In the washroom of the subway station, with the voice of knocking the door, Mr. Chris covered his son’s ears tightly and cried. As a father who loves his son so deep, he must be in the feeling of lf-abu, but the only thing he could do is just work harder. And this is the image touches me the

most in the whole movie. The last detail that I want to say is

Christopher’s tears. In order to have a bed to sleep in the Church refuge, they had to catch the last bus, when they were running, his Captain America dropped but they had no time to pick it up, when the bus moved away, the boy burst

into tears. At that time, he was

not the boy who went with his father to ll the medical instrument through streets and lanes, who was on the go from one poorhou to another, who told jokes to make his father happy. Seeing the crying boy, at that time, he was only a 5-year-old kid,

the poor life made him so nsible. In addition, I think it is necessary to introduce our leading

role Chris Gardner. I have to say he is a real man.

He usually says like “this is a part of my life, and this part is called……” People in the hardship can have a spirit of lf-mockery is valuable, and I think just becau his optimism and endeavor, he can succeed. He doesn?t ud to go to a college and he is struggling for life, but when he heard that to be a stockbroker just need to be good with numbers and good with people. He ems

to e the hope of life. To be an internship with no wage makes

his life harder, but he never give up. On the other hand,

as his son said, Chris Gardner is a good papa. After his wife left

him,he took care of his son no matter how he was busy

he encouraged his son to pursuit his dream bravely, and in my view, the words are for us, too. “Don?t ever let somebody tell

you, you can’t do something, you got a dream,you gotta protect it. People can?t do it themlves, they wanna tell you, you can?t do it. If you want to something, go get it, period”. When Mr.

Chris gets the news that he is the one who succeed, he feels so

excited that he rushes to daycare centre and hugs his son tightly. I believe there?s must be tears, but this time, the tears is full

of happiness.

This is a man who never say die. There are many people can not enter the door of happiness and success. Why? This is

becau the people lack the force of unremitting persistence

and the pursuit of happiness. So when they fall on hard times,

they can not recover after a tback. What is more, some

people will lo their heart. But Chris got rid of the trouble that

caud domino-effect, he doggedly got over many difficulties

that he met and broke the darkness before dawn, and he won

the day. It reminds me the story of The Old Man and The Sea.

There is a famous saying like that a man can be destroyed but

not defeated. Nobody was born to be failure. When the

opportunity comes, you should hold on it as possible as you can.

Sometimes, we feel the life is unfair, but whether we have

ignored something just like that fool. Happiness is not right

there at your fingertips, so someone who just wants to sit there

and wait to the happiness to knock on the door will miss the

final. While the light is only hope in exchange for waiting

patiently.

In the movie, Jefferson’s the Declaration of Independence’s

phra about man’s in alienable right to life, liberty and the

pursuit of happiness. If America is about the promi of

bettering onelf, why does it have to be so freaking hard? We

e the world “happiness” is deliberately misspelled in the name of the film “The Pursuit of Happyness” It means there is

no why in the happiness only “I”. I still remember the joke

Chris’s son told to him:

One day, a man was drowning in the water.

And a boat came by and said.” Do you need any help?”

He said,” No, thank you. God will save me.”

Then another boat came by and said,” Do you need any

help?”

And he said ,” No, thank you. God will save me.”

Then he drowned, and he went to heaven.

And he said,” God, why did not you save me?”

And God said,” I nt you two big boats, you dummy.”

If let me, I’d like to rewrite it as this:

A father said ,”God, why do not you give me the

happiness?”

God answered,” I have already given your own son who

accompanies you on the way to happiness.”

Everybody has his ed with the word he

said at the beginning ,he wondered, They all looked “happy,” “Why not me?.At last ,he succeeded by his hard working. Why

Chris was happy finally? Got a good job? Become a rich man? Money and success in business involve many different aspects,

people can be successful only with working harder and harder.

So I do not think the story just told people to hardly work. If it

just so, that is fortune rather than

happiness. For Chris Gardner, his happiness is to stay with his son and to realize his dream step by step.

It is said that this movie is inspired by a true story, and I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. we are unique and

we are ourlves ,just hold a dream and do what you can do ,and do your best ,don’t ever let somebody tell you that you can’t

do something .I think, tough life experiences always make a great person. If you want something ,go and get it . It is said that the move is from a true story ,so we should believe the ntence that “Everything is possible” . Like Chris’s experience ,who posd the desire and the passion to live it ,who dreamt the American dream . In the end he finally made his dream come true . “Hey ,dad ,listen to this ,knock, knock ”I know who was there .he was happiness.

I know that it is not easy to be a good husband and a good Papa, since in reality, only love cannot only make everything. And I also learn that one has to strongly believe in himlf, no matter how difficult the situation is, but of cour, hard-working is only we can work hard like Chris,we will also we should

not have the thought that someone can succeed without any ne of us has to try our by to pursuit the happiness of ours.

The Pursuit of Happiness is really an excellent move , after watching it ,I cannot calm my heart down for a long time,there are tears on my face ,but smile in my heart ,I think Chris is a good example for all of us ,just be optimistic and go to realize your dream.
