much for choosing to come in such a cold my topic

is about choice and process.A rearch shows that a man has to

make 73 choices one so many choices one day， people

easily get so confud and afraid of making wrong choice that

they hesitate and finally miss the true part of life. In my opinion，

the following part is of much more importance than the choice.

There is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or

boring life， which the process makes the difference. Life is a

box of chocolate，you never know what you will get. Forrest

Gump made no decision by and for himlf but he accomplished

great success with his strong will in the process. The process is

not the road itlf but the attitudes and feelings ，the caution，

courage and persistance we have as we encounter new

experience and unexpected obstacles. Take mylf as an example，

I changed my major when I became a postgraduate. After the

choice，days have been harsh for me.I cannot understand the

new lessons at all. For they are cloly related to mathmatics

which I learned nothing about before. However wuth the belief

that this is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and

challenge mylf，I persisted. I asked for help from every channel

and reorgonized my life. Gradually I could understand some parts

and even found maths er， I learned to act

instead of complaining. In retrospect，the choice left no trace in

my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the past four

months becomes an unforgetable experience in my life. NO

matter what the choice is， enjoy the process. In the process，

your potential will be inspired and new discoveries，improvement and progress will come to you. The are the most

beautiful sceneries and only on the way can you e

make your life colorful. There is no need and I donnot want

to judge whether it right or wrong for me to be here，but I

congratulate to mylf for I gain and enjoy this fantastic

experience. So my dear friends，never worry about your choice

before you know how strong they are." i can still remember the

words that dad said to me years ago.

when i was young, i ud to be very naughty. life then was

like a glaball ,shining with bright colours. i had once gone down

to the river bank, catching a great many worms and was

afterwards punished by mum. i had ever cut the pillow towel into

pieces in order to make clothes for my dolls. similarly, i was then

blamed riously. once i even put the hot iron on the floor which

immediately burnt a big hole on the carpet. although i had done

so many annoying things, my childhood emed to be rather

colourful. however, i had never had a clear definition about

mylf. but then something happened. it had made a great

difference to my life and made who i am now.

i had always been afraid of having the intravenous drop in

hospital. the first time i was taken to have the drop, i cried for

almost half an hour and finally gave off at father's vere scolding.

watching the cold needle stabbing into my skin, i cried even more

loudly. at that time, i never dared to take a glance at my hand

and always needed my mother to stay with me at my side. even

if mum had told me many times," honey, there’s nothing to be

scared of. just clo your eyes and sleep." i would still keep my

eyes wide open, watching the liquid flow through the bottle and

never slept.

nevertheless, things just happened in a casual way. when i

caught a high fever again when young, mum had to nd for the

doctor home to treat me. i was so sick that i became quite drowsy

and then slept. when i suddenly woke up in the afternoon, i found

the liquid in the bottle had already flown over ,while mum and

dad were not around. i yelled, but finally found it was of no u.

so i jumped out of the bed and pulled up the tubule. in the nature

of things, the blood came out and dropped along the way i went

downstairs. things became different at the time i went down

alone. i discovered that i could be independent. i was much

stronger than i had thought. looking back on the girl who cried

all day, i came to understand suddenly that the strong part of the

inner mylf had been existing all the time. eing the anxious

mum, i revealed a big smile to her. i could e that mum was

trying to hold her tears back and scrubbed my blood on the hand.

she didn't know that her little girl had stealthily grown up.

since then, i became stronger. as you e now, standing in

front of you is a confident and sunny girl. in my grown-up life,

i've never cried for being injured no matter how rious it is. i can

even go to the hospital alone when mum and dad are on

business. i came acroso many difficulties in life, while i've never

thought of giving up. thanks to that extraordinary experience at

my age of ten, i discovered a person inside mylf who has been

so important and unique to me. just like what dad had told me

before, "people are like tea bags—you have to put them in hot

water before you know how strong they are."

gentlemen:

It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful

Saturday morning to share with you my ntiments about life and

passion for the English language.

About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first

English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone

with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood

there, embarrasd and helpless, struggling in vain for the right

thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.

While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my

courage to speak in public. When my professor again

encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said “no.” I

couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me

straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I

will never forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our

fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a

basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running

away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not

one who never fails，but one who never quits.”

I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my

mind. Then I made the bravest and wist decision of my life: I

would face my fears – and take part in the competition!

As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here

I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is

beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have

faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

is the key---the whole team working as one, united they will

never be defeated.

The European’s style. of play is like a Waltz, the Brazilian like

a Samba, and the passionate Argentineans play as if they are

doing a Tango. Football is so unpredictable, so unbelievable. You

will never know who will win until the last minute. Especially when

suddenly there is a goal, the fans who have been sitting on the

The first reason is that when a person has lf-confidence he

believes in himlf. He believes that he can and will succeed, and

this gives him the courage to try new things. In order to be

successful we must be willing to take some risks, so having lf-

confidence is very important. Another reason is that a confident

person rarely gives up. When he fails he tries again and again

until he wins. A final reason is that confident people are not afraid

to show off their achievements. This is not to say that they should

brag, but that they should gracefully and confidently accept the

compliments of others. When their achievements are noticed

more by others at school or work, they are more likely to succeed.

In short, I believe lf-confidence to be the most important

factor in success. It enables people to take risks, try again when

they fail, and enjoy their accomplishments when they win. With

the abilities, a confident person can succeed easily at school or

work.

促成一個人成功的因素有很多。不論是念書或工作，如果可以努力、誠實、聰明、負責任等，就比較有可能成功。但在所有可能影響成功與否的特點中，基于下列理由，我認為自信最重要。

第一個理由就是，當一個人有自信的時候，就會相信自己的能力。他會相信自己可以而且一定會成功，這一點讓他有勇氣嘗試新事物。想要成功，我們必須愿意冒險，所以有自信是很重要的。另一個理由是，有信心的人很少放棄，即使失敗了，還是會不斷嘗試，直到成功。最后一個理由是，有信心的人不怕炫耀自己的成就，這并不表示他們應該自夸，而是應該優雅、有信心地接受別人的贊美。當他們在學業或工作上的成就更受人注目時，成功的可能性就更高了。

簡言之，我認為自信是成功最重要的因素。自信使人勇于冒險，失敗了會再接再厲，成功時能享受自己的成就。有了這些能力，有信心的人就能夠輕易地在學業或工作上獲得成功。
