【微翻譯】春聯也有英文，你知道嗎？English Version Chulian[頂]2012-01-17

每逢春節時期，很多人家的門口都會貼上紅色的“?！弊?，而有的則是貼上一對

春聯。這可謂是中華民族過農歷春節的一個習俗了。你見過英文的春聯嗎？那么，讓我們

一起來看看吧！

（1）“春聯”在英語中應該怎么表達才好呢？ 春聯：

Spring Festival Scrolls

這里的“scroll”指的就是“卷軸；畫卷”，比如說：Most Chine pictures are

painted on silk scrolls.（中國畫大都是畫在絹卷軸上的。）同時，它還可以表示“名冊”

的意思，比如說：be entered in the scrolls of history（名垂史冊）

（2）“上聯”、“下聯”、“橫批”又該怎么說呢？

可不能把“上”、“下”直譯成“up”和“down”喲。事實上，我們

“the left

scroll”、“the right scroll”

、以及

“the top scroll”

來分別指這三個意思。

除去“春聯”，一般性的“對聯”，我們叫做“couplet”，表示的就是通常說的

“對句”啦。所以，“春聯”還可以叫做“Spring Festival Couplets”喲。比如人民網

中這樣描述春聯：

Spring Festival couplets consist of two paper scrolls, inscribed with auspicious

sayings, pasted vertically on either side of the door. A shorter horizontal scroll is

often pasted across the top. Like images of door gods, Spring Festival couplets

were thought to protect the houhold from evil.

（3）去年，李開復在微博上貼了一副英文的春聯。

上聯是：

Eat well sleep well have fun day by day.

下聯是：Study hard work hard make money more and more.

橫批：Gelivable.

連我們門上貼的“?！倍际怯肔uck 來寫的。

上下聯都是中補結構的短語，可以說是把英文和中文的文化很好的結合在了一起。不

過我們中文的“福”字所代表的含義，總覺得一個luck 還不能很好的概括出來。不知道
