Chapter 1

Scene 1 The Mirror On The Wall

Narrator(解說員)

: This is a story about love and how love and beauty are more

powerful than wickedness(邪惡) and jealousy (嫉妒). Many years ago there was a tiny

beautiful kingdom(王國) in a faraway place. Now this kingdom was ruled by a kind and

good king who had a lovely and gentle wife as his Queen. The tiny kingdom glowed(閃爍)

with the magic of their love and they had a daughter who was the most beautiful child the

world had ever en and they called her Snow White. Sadly, shortly after Snow White was

born, her mother, the good and noble(高貴的) Queen, died of a mysterious(神秘的) illness.

And the king soon remarried(再婚).

This new Queen was truly beautiful but her beauty went no deeper than her

was a wicked and cruel woman who was only happy when she was looking into one of her

many mirrors. And when the good king perished(死亡) while fighting a war in a faraway land,

the new Queen did not shed(流<淚>) a single tear. For now she could tax(征稅) the people

heavily and u the money to buy all sorts of lotions(護(hù)膚液) and potions(藥劑) that would

maintain her great beauty. The people of the kingdom became sad and frightened. The

Queen had many many mirrors, but by far her favorite was a magic mirror which always

spoke the total and absolute（絕對的) truth. For many years veral times each day, the

vain(愛虛榮的) Queen would look into her magic mirror and ask the same question.

: Magic mirror tell me do, tell your mistress(女主人) tell her true, answer me

obey(服從) my call, who's the loveliest of all?

Narrator

: At each time the magic mirror would answer exactly the same way.

Mirror

: The answer, Queen, is crystal clear(顯而易見的), you are the most lovely far and

near.

Narrator

: And then one fateful(不幸的) day the Queen received an answer of a different

sort. Yes, a very different sort indeed.

Mirror

: Her skin is pure as a brand new snow, her eyes t people's hearts a glow, lips

red as blood, hair black as night, the loveliest is there, Snow White

Queen

: What? How can this be? I am the most beautiful woman in the land. I always

have been and I always shall be. Treacherous(背叛的) mirror, how dare you say Snow White

is lovelier than I!

Mirror

:Your loveliness is great 'tis true, but there is one more fair(美麗的) than you. For

Snow White's beauty does begin where yours does stop, 'tis from within.

Queen

: Send me my Royal(王室的) Huntsman immediately!

(The Royal Huntsman arrives

Queen

:So you understand what it is I want you to do, my loyal(忠誠的) Huntsman.

Huntsman

: But Your Highness(皇后陛下)

Queen

: I ask you a simple question. Do you understand?

Huntsman:

Yes, Your Highness, I understand.

Queen: Good, becau if for some reason you should fail, then tonight I shall be dining

upon head of huntsman. Do I make mylf clear?

Huntsman

: Yes, Your Highness

Queen

: Then we understand one another. Now go!

Scene 2 The Ruthful(充滿同情的) Huntsman

(By the riverside, Snow White is plucking(摘) wild flowers. Huntsman comes near her:)

Snow White

: (To a little animal.) Don't worry. I won't take away your little hiding place

What a beautiful glorious(令人愉快的) day! Have you ever en such a lovely sunshiny day,

Huntsman?

Huntsman

: Even the sunniest of days may have its dark clouds (天有不測風(fēng)

云）,Princess.

Snow White

: Oh, Huntsman，don't be so glum(憂郁的,悶悶不樂的). You are beginning to

sound just like my stepmother(繼母). Oh,I wish there were a way I could make her happy

Huntsman

: You would not be so anxious to make the Queen happy if you knew why she

nt us here.

Snow White(laughing)

: I know, let's pick some wild berries(野草莓) for my stepmother.

Perhaps that would plea(使高興) her.

(Huntsman rais his sword<劍>.)

Snow White:

Huntsman, what are you doing?

Huntsman

: I, I cannot do it!

Snow White

: Huntsman, what is it?

Huntsman

: Run! Princess, run for your life!

Snow White

: My life? What are you talking about?

Huntsman

: The queen, she is jealous of your beauty. She has ordered me to slay(殺死)

you.

Snow White

: Slay me?

Huntsman

: Your stepmother will do anything to e you dead.

Snow White

: She wishes me dead? I cannot believe this, surely you were mistaken?

Huntsman

: There is no mistake! You must flee(逃走)! Run far as you can,go!

Snow White

:But what about you, if you disobey(不服從)

Huntsman

: Run, I say!

Snow White

:I shall never forget you, Huntsman!

Huntsman

: Not I you, Princess. Now quickly you must go and never return.

(Snow White hears Huntsman's words and runs into the forest. suddenly she runs

into(撞到) a man. He was the Prince of a nearby kingdom.)

Prince

: Whoa there, wait a minute, miss. You are the most lovely creature this forest has

ever en.

Snow White

: Plea, let me go.

Prince

：Who are you? What are you afraid of? Let me help you plea. (Snow White runs

away.) After her! I must know who she is! Never have the eyes gazed upon(看到、注視)

such beauty. Never have I felt like this. Truly I think this must be love.

Servant 1

: Sire(陛下) ,she has disappeared from sight.

Servant 2

: It's true, Sire, perhaps she was a witch（女巫) or a gnome(地神).

Prince

: No, my friends, no one with a face like hers could be a witch or a gnome. I

swear(發(fā)誓) by all that I hold scared(害怕的) I shall find that girl no matter how long it takes.

If I am lucky enough she will become my princess.

Chapter 2

Scene 1 The Little Cottage(小屋)

(Snow White runs and runs. And she stops before a hou.)

Narrator

: Snow White had never en a place like this but somehow she knew it was a

safe place.

Snow White

: Hello? Is there anyone at home?Can anyone hear me?

(Snow White pushes the door open and walks in.)

Snow White

:I said, is there anybody here?

(She es ven small beds, and a small table with ven bowls full of food on it.)

Snow White

:Oh,my!(哦,天啊！)What sweet(可愛的) little chairs, What a cute(小巧的) little

table!Oh,what delicious looking food!This must be a hou for children. There must be one

two, ven of them!Surely they won't mind if I take a little something. I'm so hungry

from my ,what nice little children must live here, I must try to stay awake long

enough to thank them for the kindness to me.

(Snow White is so tired that she falls asleep soon.)

Narrotor

: Now what Snow White could not possibly know was that this hou did not

belong to children at all but to dwarfs,ven of them identical(相同的) and all brothers.

Sunbeam

:Hey,somebody’s been sitting in my chair!

Toadstool

:And using my spoon.

Fun

:And eating my soup.

Hedgehog

:And my bread.

Robin

:And drinking from my cup.

Cricket

:And nibbling(咬) at my fruit.

Tadpole

:And sleeping in my bed.

All

:Who is she?How’d she get here?

Sunbeam

:Isn't she beautiful?

Toadstools

:Yes,but what’s she doing here??

Fun

: It's just a girl.

:Shh…you’ll wake her.

Tadpole

:But she's sleeping in my bed (Snow White wakes up.)

Snow White

:Didn't anyone ever tell you that it is rude to wake someone up by

yelling(大叫)?

All

: (沒有).No way!

Tadpole

: But you're still in my bed

:Yeah,yes,you know. Who are you anyway?

Snow White

:Oh,that's right,we haven't been properly introduced; only improperly

awakened. I'm Snow White.

Hedgehog

: Uh true, you are a bit pale there deary. But what's your name?

Snow White

: Snow White is my name

Cricket

: Snow White? Kind of(有點(diǎn)) an unusual name, isn't it?

Snow White

: 0h, I don't know. I never really thought about it before. May I inquire(詢問)

as to your names?

Sunbeam

: I’m Sunbeam.

: My name is Tadpole and you are still sitting on my bed!

:0h,I am sorry. I am plead to meet all of you.

Dwarfs

: Nice to meet you too, yeah, yes.

Sunbeam

:Well, little miss rainy day,have you ever heard of a thing called trespassing(擅

自進(jìn)入)?

Snow White

:It's Snow White and yes I have. Oh, I'm so sorry, but I knocked and

: Look, I know that parents can be difficult(難相處的) sometimes but that is no

reason to run away.

Hedgehog

:Fun is right, you must go stepmother will be worried about you.

Snow White

: But you do not understand, she wishes me dead.

Dwarfs

:DEAD? As in…

Snow White

: Yes, I'm afraid it's true

Dwarfs

which you definitely(肯定) are.

Snow White

: Why,thank you.

:l heard that she has her Royal Gardeners clip（剪掉） the heads off the Royal

robushes(玫瑰叢) in ca the flowers are more lovely than she is.

Snow White

: That is true

Tadpole

:And I heard that on beautiful days, she orders all the palace curtains to be

drawn so that no one can say that the day is more lovely than she is.

Snow White

: She told me it was becau the flowers wouldn't bloom. Why it's

true,everything you say is true.

Hedgehog

: Then I say, good riddance(可喜的擺脫) to her.

Dwarfs

: Yeah, let's go, I never liked her anyway. Yeah

Snow White

: All of you against the queen and her armed guards(武裝警衛(wèi)) ?

Dwarfs

:You got a point(有道理)

Tadpole

: After all, it is her mother.

Dwarfs

: Stepmother!

Tadpole

:A stepmother's love can be as deep and pure as any mother's. It is jealousy that

has made her wicked(邪惡的).

Hedgehog

: StiII, I don't know, don't really have much extra(額外的) room

around here.

Snow White

: Oh,Plea. I would love to stay here with you; I won't take up much room

and in return(作為回報(bào)) I can cook for you and clean the hou and mend(修補(bǔ)) your clothes

Tadpole

: Hang on,hold it(且慢)! If you're a Princess like you say you are, how come(怎么

會,為什么) you know how to cook and clean and w(縫補(bǔ))?

Snow White

: Doesn't everybody?

Dwarfs

: No!

: Boys, this girl is too good to be true.

Tadpole

: O.K. you can stay,but you're going to have to find someplace el to sleep.

(Snow White bends over(彎腰) and kiss Tadpole, Tadpole blushes<臉紅>.)

Scene 2 The Seven Dwarfs

(Next morning the dwarfs are going out to work. Snow White is giving them their

lunches.)

Snow White

: There you are, Sunbeam.

Fun

:I'm Fun,

Snow White

: Oh, sorry and here's your lunch, Cricket.

Hedgehog

: Hedgehog!

Snow White

: Hedgehog, right. Robin?

Cricket

: Nice try, but I'm Cricket.

Snow White

: Oh,rats(糟糕、胡說).Don't worry,I’ll get it(了解,懂).

(The dwarfs are outside their hou.)

Tadpole

: It's time to break out the jerys(運(yùn)動衫) with our names on the back.

Fun

: Give her a chance, Robin. I'm your brother and sometimes I'm not even sure who

you are.

Tadpole

: I'm Tadpole!

:See?

(Snow White es Sunbeam out of the door)

Sunbeam

:Listen,Snow White,if your stepmother hates you as much as you say she does,

she'll stop at nothing(不惜一切) to e you very careful today; don't let anyone you

don’t know near the hou.

Snow White

:Don't worry, I won't. Thank you again for all your kindness. Sunbeam?

Sunbeam

: Right

(Snow White waves goodbye to Sunbeam)

Scene 3 The First Adventure

(Back to the queen's palace.)

Queen

:So the pretty little girl still (詛咒) that mirable(討厭的、悲慘的)

huntsman! Very well, I’ll simply have to take care of this little matter mylf. It shouldn't be

too difficult, she is such a guileless(誠實(shí)的) innocent child and once I have dispod of(解

決、除掉) her no one in the entire kingdom will be more beautiful than I, no one.

Narrator

: And so Snow White had found a place to hide from her wicked

was happy to help the dwarfs who had given her a safe place to stay,at least

she thought it was a safe place.

(The queen disguis(假扮) herlf as an old woman and comes to the place where

Snow White lives.)

Queen

: Perfect, who would suspect(懷疑) that someone as beautiful as I am would

appear to be so (鞋帶、飾帶),buckles(扣子),belts(皮帶),bows(蝴蝶結(jié))! Who will buy

my beautiful laces, buckles, belts, bows?

Snow White

:Well,hello,there weary(疲勞的) traveler. What brings you to this remote(偏

僻的) part of the forest?

Queen

:Why I am lling my wears, pretty thing(漂亮的小姐). Would you care to e

some lovely laces for your gown?

Snow White

:Certainly,what have you got?

Queen

: Oh,surely you're not frightened of old granny now, are you?

:No,of cour.I'm not, but I am afraid I have no money to buy your lovely

laces.

Queen

: Only an old woman lling wears.

Dwarfs

: The Queen!

Snow White

: Harmless? Do you call this harmless? (He throws the belt to the tree. The lace belt

turns into two snakes.)

Snow White

: Are you saying that it was my stepmother?

Hedgehog

:Only someone with mighty(強(qiáng)大的) and terrible powers like the queen could

manage something like this.

Snow White

: I'm so ashamed that I fell for her nasty trick(卑鄙的詭計(jì)).

Sunbeam

:Don't be hard on(對…苛刻) yourlf,the Queen is a very powerful sorceress(巫

婆).well,anyway you're safe be more careful in the 't let anyone near the

hou and especially don't let anyone near you.

Scene 4 The cond Adventure 第二次遇險(xiǎn)

(In the palace,the Queen is asking the magic mirror.)

Queen

: Magic mirror tell me do,tell your mistress(女主人) tell her true,answer me obey

my call,who's the loveliest of all?

Mirror

: She does enchant each one she meets,her heart was still but now it beats and

though you are a beauteous(美麗的) sight you don't compare with fair(美麗的) Snow White.

Queen

: Ah! She lives,how can this be?Will I never be rid of this horrible child?Calm

yourlf,calm,calm. Anger caus wrinkles(皺紋).Very well,if the laces fail to choke(使窒息)

the life out of her,we'll simply have to find something that will will be done!

(In a cave the dwarfs are singing while working.)

Dwarfs

:(Singing) Hip!Hip!Hooray another working day!Hip!Hip!Hooray singing all the

way!Each day we arrive on time,we work hard but we don't winter spring or

fall hapy workers one and all(全部).Hip!hip!Hooray another working day!Always busy as the

bees on the job we aim to gh we're small we're very quick and no one ever

calls in sick(請病假). Hip!Hip!Hooray another working day!Hip!hip!Hooray singing all the

way!We're ven brothers who look the same,but each one has a different help

each other when we can there's always someone to lend a hand(幫忙).Hip!Hip!Hooray

Queen

:Plea miss,could an old man trouble you for a drink of water?

Snow White

:Oh,of cour.

(Snow Whites goes into the hou to get him a glass of water)

Queen

parched(饑渴的) on the long journey I must make from the village.

Snow White

:You are welcome then,Rumble sir.I would invite you to rest a while,but I

am forbidden to do so.

Qween

he puts the comb onto Snow White's hair,Snow White falls onto the ground

Queen takes off her disgui.)

Queen

:Oh,well,now the poinson that I placed on the teeth em to be working quite

well enough indeed,goodbye,Snow White!Goodbye and good riddance.

Scene 5:The Prince

(Back in the is a visitor,the prince.)

Queen

:It is so ldom that I have visitors from other kingdoms,much less(更不用說)

Royal visitors.I am honored(我很榮幸).

Prince

:Your Highness.

:You are far from your own kingdom,Your what do I owe such a

visit?

Prince

:Oh,most noble

Queen

:And beautiful.

Prince

:And beautiful Queen,I am on a quest(尋找、追求)…

Prince

Prince

poisoned.

Queen

:I am inconsolable(極度傷心的).

Prince

:I know how you feel for I too have lost the one person in my life I truely love.

Queen

Prince

:My heart aches for your loss,but I fear I cannot as long as the

possibility remains that my true love exists,I must arch for her.I shall arch for the rest of

my life if need be,until I find her.

Queen

:Ah,she is fortunate to have one so devoted to shall you do if you fail to

find her or if when you do she is,oh,I don't know how shall I put this delicately(巧妙地) dead.

Prince

:Then I shall die as well.

Queen

:Surely you cannot be rious?

Prince

:I have never been more rious,either I shall find my love or I shall die trying.I

thank you for your time your highness and I wish you a speedy healing(復(fù)原) from your

grief(悲痛).

Queen

:Yes,thank luck on your quest.

Prince

:Thank you,Your Highness.I know I shall not fail.

(The Prince furious(暴怒的) Queen looks at the mirror again.)

Queen

:Don't look at me like that!Most of what I told him was the all she is

(In the forest the dwarfs are returning home from e Snow White on grass

again.)

Sunbeam

Tadpole

:She hasn't any laces.

Sunbeam

:Well then let's

Tadpole

(Snow White wakes up.)

Dwarfs

:Hey,all right.

Snow White

:What,what happened?

Sunbeam:That's what we were wondering.

Snow White

:I don't know.I gave an old man a drink of water and he gave me a comb in

gratitude(作為感謝).That's al I remember.

:Snow White,that was no old man,that was the evil Queen!

Snow White

:But he emed so kind and so couldn't have been.

Hedgehog

:No,take a look at this.

(He throws the comb to the grass,the comb turns into a poisonous spider<毒蜘蛛>.)

Sunbeam

:Remember what I told you Snow White,the Queen wil stop at nothing to e

you magical powers are mighty and she can disgui herlf as

anything,anything at must remember or el the kindness in your heart will be the

death of you.

Snow White

:Yes,I will remember,I promi,I will rememer.

Sunbeam

:Perhaps one of us should stay home with you tomorrow.

Snow White

:No,no,I will remember,I swear I ,I don't want to be any more

trouble to you.

Sunbeam

:Trouble?Snow White,we love you!You're no trouble to us at all.

Chapter 3

Scene 1 The Sad Department

(In the palace,the Queen walks around the stands before the mirror again.)

Queen

:Magic mirror tell me do,tell your mistress tell her true,answer me obey my

call ,who's the loveliest of all ?

Mirror

:Despite(盡管) your efforts noble Queen,Snow White's the fairest to be en,even

your jaded(疲倦的) eye must e,that she is fairer far than thee.

Queen

:What?Again tho wretched(可憐/卑鄙的) dwarfs,they have foiled(挫敗、阻撓) me

for the last time.I will devi(想出) a plan so cunning(奸詐的),so ruthless(殘忍的) that

nothing will be able to save her this one can be more beautiful than I am,especially

that pitiful little school time Snow White shall die and she shall stay dead forever!

(Morning,Snow White is cleaning the hou.A girl comes near lling apples.)

merely sleeps.

:I fear you are wrong,brave since it is clear that you love her as

much as we do,maybe you can find a way to bring her 's worth a her then.

Prince

:I thank you,kind dwarfs and I swear to you that when I do find a way to revive

her,and you will be the first to know of the ,take care with is the love of

(The rvants pick up Snow White's body from the White spits(吐痰) and

wakes.)

Prince

(Everybody cheers.)

(The Queen breaks all the mirrors in the throws a small one onto the Magic

mirror.)
